Sure, Instagram had a rough end to 2012 with those TOS changes and subsequent retractions.
But the mobile app has also been one of my favorite discoveries of 2012 (other photography app suggestions: Pixlromatic, Camera+, Diptic, Snapseed, Flickr). While I can’t realistically bring my DSLR camera everywhere, I always have my iPhone with me. What’s more is that the Instagram community is an awesome place. Interacting with other mobile photographers through Instagramers Seattle and Josh Johnson’s #jj forums takes Instagram to a different level entirely. Here are some of my favorite personal mobile shots from 2012.
Trying to organize my photos, so here’s a post of landscapes I’ve taken in the past year. You can also view the set on Flickr.
Vancouver, a set on Flickr.
My girlfriend and I took a trip up north to Vanouver this weekend to celebrate our one-year anniversary. Besides absolutely falling in love with the city, here are some photos I shot. Click the photos to enlarge!
Went out looking for a spot the other night to experiment taking photos of traffic trails. I’d always been fascinated by the view of Seattle from the Lakeview Boulevard East overpass, so I thought it would be a decent location to setup. These types of photos have always entertained me, so I’m happy I’ve taught myself how to capture them (not that it’s overly difficult or anything). Still lots to improve upon.

I walked down to Green Lake on a beautiful autumn day in Seattle. Here’s what I came up with!
Yikes! Seems like I’m kind of getting into this photography thing. Today I went into downtown Seattle and tried to get some skyscraper photos. Here’s what came out best — plus a few other architecture shots. If you like what you see, please check out my Flickr!
